Book Review: Cold Mountain

Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life (Gawain, Shakti)

Many people recommended this book to me as a “lovingly crafted classic.” At over four hundred pages, the author immerses you in the pain and suffering that arises from war as one of the protagonists tries to makes his way home from the civil war. I agree with the recommendations, but I have this to say: life is short and filled with pain and suffering, so why compound it? If you are lucky you may have the chance to read approximately five hundred books during your lifetime, so why not choose wisely among those that are filled with hope and positive memes? My advice, in short, is to read something else.

Bonus! Two reviews for the price of one! Just substitute “makes his way home from the civil war” with “escape from world war two” and you have my review of Catch-22, the subject of NaNoReMo 2007.
